January 29 - Topsy-Turvy

Week 3, Day 2 for the Theoreticians, finally doing a medieval-style parallel perfect-fifth harmonization of the Beethoven Ode to Joy -- a carry-over from yesterday.  Then proceed with Dictation / Board-Harmony from the Musica Enchiriadis Rex Coelestis, featuring Oblique, Parallel, and Contrary Motion.

Another soothing lunch,

returning home (Harriet arriving eventually) to grade the evening class's Quiz 1, then back for more madness,

proceeding from the Syrian Hurrian Hymn through Gregorian Chant, looking ahead to the rest of the material for Quiz 3.
