March 3 - Reading, Writing, Rhythmatics

Belatedly finish the January 2013 issue of 21st-Century Music; continue score-study of Bartok Orchestral Suite No. 1, Stravinsky Scherzo Fantastique, Shostakovich Theme and Variations in Bb Major, and Barber Dover Beach; and compose The Decameron - Third Day: IX (pages 5, 5, 4, 3, 5 respectively) -- with Harriet out and the breezes blowing down towards the Bay.

As some of above continues, videos in the evening upon her return,

including the Studio One George Orwell 1984. (featuring nice usage of Shostakovich's Symphonies Nos. 5 and 7 -- here and/or elsewhere the series also utilizes Berlioz's Symphonie Fantastique, Copland's The Red Pony, Holst's The Planets, Stravinsky's Symphony in Three Movements, and other impressive selections).

Relatively late, but evidently not too so, call Bette and George and wish the big guy a Happy 86th (!).
