November 23 - In the Evening
Finish re-reading Albert Camus's The Myth of Sisyphus,
watch a tragic-though-enlighening video with Harriet, compose page 53 of Double Piano Concerto ("Fellow Travellers"): III, deal with sheet music for Arnold Schoenberg's Three Pieces for Piano, Bela Bartok's Duke Bluebeard's Castle: Door 5, Anton Webern's Three Little Pieces for Cello and Piano, and Sergei Prokofiev's Toccata -- all Opus 11's for the upcoming concert on November 30 at Diablo Valley College Music Building.
Beyond nightfall,
rendezvous with H in the
City
for the
Ninth Annual Irregular Resolutions Concert at San Francisco Community Music Center,
featuring engaging / intriguing works by Davide Verotta (repeating his Invitation from two week's ago's SF Composers Chamber Music Concert), John Bilotta (performed brilliantly by violinist David Rhyther, accompanied by relatedly talented pianist and cellist),
David Graves
(real-time algorithmic improvisation,
where shapes placed on screen result in interacting musical cells), and William Severson (ably joined at the piano and as flutist by Harry Bernstein).
Also nice to see in attendance Allan Crossman, Steve Mobia, and Anne Szabla -- among other friendly folks.
Return
late.
